Class absences: It is the student’s responsibility to ask about work they missed due to an absence. Absent work is due within 2 class days following a student’s return to class, or as otherwise arranged with the teacher.
Concert absence: If a student misses a concert, they will be required to complete a make-up assignment, which is due 2 weeks after the concert. No work will be accepted after that. This written portion is worth 89% of the concert grade. The other 11% is for the performance portion of the assessment. Teachers will schedule a concert performance make-up. That will be the only date on which students can come in, dressed in their uniform, and perform their portion of the concert for the teachers.
Tardy to Class: Students who arrive late to class are expected to have a pass. If they do not have a pass, they will be considered “late unexcused” and assigned a 30-minute lunch detention. Students are given 1 free tardy pass each quarter. After 1 lunch detention with us, students will be referred to the office for excessive tardies.
Restroom breaks: Students are encouraged to use their passing time between classes to take care of personal needs. Students  are given 1 free bathroom pass each quarter .
Food, Gum and Drinks: Students are not allowed to have food or gum in our classroom. Plain water is fine, but other beverages are to be left on the table by the door.
Turning in Assignments:
Occasionally there will be written work. Completed assignments should be turned into the basket in D2. Be sure your first and last names are on the paper, as well as which period you have music class.
